Genealogy Research

Welcome to Gene Genie Genealogy Research Service.
Do you have British ancestry? Are you interested in uncovering your family history, but…
- Don’t have time to trawl through the countless databases and search engines on-line?
- Are too far away to visit local County Record Offices to consult the original records in person?
- Have managed to trace your ancestors back so far but now find that you have come up against a brick wall?
- Or, are you simply feeling overwhelmed by it all and just need a few pointers to help you get started with your own research?
If you have answered "yes" to one or more of these questions, then perhaps I can be of help?
I am a professionally qualified Archivist and an independent Genealogist. I am both a Registered Member of the Society of Archivists and a Member of the Society of Genealogists.
I have a wealth of experience in researching family and local history, including tracing my own ancestors (which is an on-going labour of love!). The research skills, and knowledge of primary sources, that I have acquired through my work as an Archivist have proved to be invaluable when it comes to providing a comprehensive research service. Having a professional background in Archives helps enormously when the more easily accessible information dries up, and more in-depth detective work is required.
I am based in West Wales, specialising in Welsh family and local history, and have the National Library of Wales and various County Record Offices on my doorstep. However, I originally hail from England and so do occasionally venture back across the border (!) and am therefore happy [and fully equipped] to take on research projects for anywhere in the UK.
